Doug Wesson, Chairman - Doug has served on the MCS School Board since 1990 and has been affiliated with the school for over 39 years. He is the owner of Wesson Hearing Aid Centers in Manteca, Ripon and Tracy and is a certified Audioprosthologist and Dispensing Optician. Doug is a member of Neighborhood Church where he has served on the Church Board and as the Missions Director. He is actively involved in the Estonia Christian Radio Project and he enjoys dabbling in computer graphics. Doug is married with 3 adult children...all of them attending MCS Preschool through Grade 12.
Pastor Lance Lowell - Pastor Lance serves as the Senior Pastor of Neighborhood Church. Prior to coming to Modesto, Lance served for over 7 years at Willamette Christian Center in Eugene, Oregon as the Youth/Associate Pastor. Lance is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and has served in pastoral ministry for the past 18 years. He and his wife, Tina, have been married for 15 years and have two children attending MCS.
Everett Leon-Guerrero - Everett has served on the MCS School Board since March of 2010 and has been affiliated with MCS for over 16 years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pacific and attends Modesto's Church of the Cross with his family. Everett is a past Scoutmaster and present Troop Committee Chairman with Boy Scout Troop 146, the President of the SOS Handball Association and the CJSF Advisor at Modesto Christian Middle School. His interests include family, handball, hiking, and sharing his time with his church, community, school and neighborhood. Everett is married with two sons (one is an MC graduate currently attending UOP and the other is a Senior at MCHS).
Allen Layman - Allen recently began serving on the MCS School Board in the summer of 2010. He is a mechanical engineer and the President of Nexus Engineering. He attends Big Valley Grace Community Church and has been affiliated with MCS for over 3 years. Allen is the District 3 Stanislaus County Planning Commissioner, serves on the YMCA of Stanislaus County Board of Directors and is a member of the Modesto Rotary Club. He enjoys spending time with family, riding dirt bikes and golfing. Allen is married with 3 children who all attend MCS.
Kevin Silva - Kevin has served on the MCS School Board since October of 2008 and has been affiliated with MCS for over 8 years. He is a 1986 graduate of Turlock High School a veteran of the United States Navy. Kevin served his community as a deputy Sheriff in Stanislaus County for 6 years and is currently in the Heating and Air Conditioning business. He has a vocational teaching credential in Metal Fabrication and is a graduate of the MJC four year apprenticeship HVAC program. He is a partner with I.C. Refrigeration, managing the Specialty Metals and Fire Protection Departments. Kevin is a member of Neighborhood Church where he has served on the Church Board since October of 2008. His interests include family, camping, fishing and sharing his time with his church family. Kevin has been married for over 20 years and has three children attending MCS from preschool to high school.
Bill Meeks - Bill began serving on the MCS School Board in February 2011. Bill is currently the Director of Global Field Service and Training for a local capital equipment manufacturer where he has worked the past 25 years. He enjoys the outdoors and a great game of baseball. Bill is a member of Neighborhood Church where he serves on the Church Board since December 2009. He has been affiliated with MCS since 2004 where his step-son has attended since kindergarten. Bill is married and has four children.
Zona Baker, Vice-Chair - Zona has served on the MCS Board for many years. She taught at MCS for several years and was the Elementary Principal for five years. Zona has 40 years of experience in education, both private and public, and she currently serves as the Director of School and District Support, Curriculum and Instruction, at the Stanislaus County Office of Education. She attends Neighborhood Church where she served on the Church board and assisted in a variety of other ministries. Her passion is in missions and is on the governing board of Help the Children, a non-profit that supports the work of the largest Christian school in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She is widowed with two adult children who attended Modesto Christian School.
Aaron Struck – Aaron is a graduate of Modesto Christian High School and the University of California at Davis. A former football player for the UC Davis Aggies, Aaron earned his Managerial Economics degree in 2003. He was hired immediately by Gallo Sales Company into their highly selective Management Development Program and until 2005 he worked as a District Manager for Gallo. He then joined an insurance agency in the central valley before founding Struck Employee Benefits in February of 2007. The company was nominated Small Business of the Year in 2008 by the Modesto Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Aaron is involved in Rotary Modesto and is a member of Leadership Modesto. Aaron is married to Cory, a speech pathologist for school-aged children. They have one son.
Peter Soderstrom - Peter is a third generation Modesto native. He attended the University of Pacific in Stockton where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Peter then earned his Doctorate from the UOP School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He has been in private practice in Modesto since 1991. Peter has served on the Board of Directors for the Stanislaus Dental Society and as President. He and is wife, Melissa, have been married for fifteen years and have two sons who have attended MCS since preschool. The Soderstrom Family is actively involved at Neighborhood Church. Peter and his family love to golf, fish and play tennis.
