Summer 2022 Reading
Just as summer training benefits our MCHS/MS student athletes, summer reading benefits all our MCHS/MS students. We are delighted to announce that during the past week all students entering grades 6-12 were provided a book to read with a corresponding assignment. Summer books were chosen carefully for enjoyment and to add to the students’ overall literary experience while at Modesto Christian. Assignments are designed to evaluate the depth of reading accomplished during the summer and to serve as a start of year writing assessment. These assignments were handed out with the books.
Please encourage your student to begin reading early in June. Ten to fifteen pages read five days a week will allow MCHS students to complete the book with time to also complete the assignment before school begins, MCMS students will find fewer pages per day are necessary. The assignment is due the first day back to class. Once Google classroom is up and running for their next English class, students will upload writing assignments to turnitin.com. Each teacher will provide that information via the Google Classroom prior to the start of school.

10th CP/H - The Book Thief
11th CP/H - To Kill A Mockingbird
12th CP/H - All the Light We Cannot See
9/10 General English - The Little Prince
