SENIOR GRADUATION
THURSDAY, MAY 26, 2022
7:30PM - BLAKELEY FIELDS
Dear MC Senior Class Graduates and Families,
We are excited to celebrate the graduation of our Seniors on Thursday, May 26 and want to provide graduates and their families with important information for the graduation ceremony.
The Senior graduation ceremony will be held outdoors at Blakeley Fields (MC football field) on Thursday, May 26 starting at 7:30PM.  We are not limiting guest attendance; however, we are limiting the number of vehicles included in the car parade. Additional guests may park in the parking area and walk onto the football field after the car parade has entered onto the fields.

We are looking forward to a great graduation and a wonderful time to honor our graduates. Thank you for abiding by the specific guidelines and procedures we will follow to ensure the safety for our students, families and representatives of MCS during the ceremony. Go Crusaders and Congratulations Class of 2022!
Graduation Ceremony
  • Please arrive no later than 7:00pm to allow time for vehicles to be placed in the order of entering into the football field.  Security teams will be onsite to assist you and provide directions to all vehicles.
  • Each graduating student may have two (2) family vehicles on the track at the football field. If you would like to park a second vehicle on the track, please reserve a parking space with Lisa Medina at 209-343-2345 or lisa.medina@modestochristian.org no later than Wednesday, May 25. Families may also park in the parking lot adjacent to the football field.
  • VIP Family Vehicle #1 must include your graduate and will be assigned a front-view parking space (facing the front of the stage) around the football track. When entering through the gates, please be prepared to have your graduate exit the vehicle to line up for their procession.
    • We encourage you to decorate your vehicles in celebration of your student’s special day!
  • After the graduate has exited the vehicle, VIP Family Vehicle #1 will proceed around the football field and be directed to an assigned parking area in alphabetical order, according to the graduates last name.
  • The Secondary Family Vehicle #2 will enter through the Football gate after all VIP Family Vehicles have gone around the track into their designated areas. Family Vehicle #2 will park at a designated area on the track facing the back of the stage.  Occupants are encouraged to exit their vehicles and proceed to join family members at the VIP Vehicle #1 designated area.
  • Please bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit in front of the VIP Vehicle #1.  All vehicles must be turned off for all guests to hear the ceremony. Guests may also sit in the bleachers facing the graduation stage.
Dress Guidelines for Graduates
Seniors are required to wear MC designated gowns and caps. With the drive-in graduation theme, students may dress more casually for the ceremony while in keeping with MCHS dress code. Seniors may bring sunglasses and wear Hawaiian leis or money leis (as is the tradition of many cultures, etc). Guys are permitted to wear Bermuda length shorts, slacks, collared shirts only without writing, logos, or pictures, ties (if desired), and flip-flops. Gals may wear sundresses, Bermuda length shorts, tops without writing, logos, or pictures, and flip-flops.
Students may decorate their caps as in keeping with the MCHS Code of Conduct and as instructed in the Senior Commencement Agreement (please see attached agreement for details). In the event you are unsure…ask the Administration for direction to prevent “cap confiscation” before the ceremony.
Seniors may not bring water guns, silly string and beach balls, etc.  Cell phone use during the ceremony is restricted. Please leave cell phones and other personal belongings in the family vehicle.
Photography & Live Stream
MCS has arranged for a photographer to take pictures during the ceremony. Pictures will be available via social media in a timely manner as a courtesy to our Seniors and their families. Parents may take photos within 6 feet of the family vehicle.  The graduation ceremony will also be live streamed through Facebook and MC’s YouTube channel.
Fireworks
As is the tradition at Modesto Christian High School since 2002, we are sponsoring a fireworks display after the ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, Seniors will meet their families at a family vehicle to enjoy the fireworks together. Family vehicles are to remain on the track during the duration of the fireworks display. Afterwards, security will provide direction as families exit the football field.
>>SENIOR OFF-CAMPUS LUNCH PRIVILEGE
For the remainder of the school year, we are excited to offer an open campus during lunch break for our HS Seniors!
With parent permission, our high school Seniors may leave campus during lunch to walk or drive to one of the nearby food establishments at the corner of Sisk and Kiernan Road (Burger King, Subway, Little Caesars, etc.).
Students will be required to sign-out at the main office before leaving campus, and sign-in when they return.  Students must return to campus on time and be in their seats when the tardy bell rings for the next period.
If your Senior student has permission to leave campus during the lunch break, please complete the attached permission slip and return to the Administration office in A-5.  If we do not receive a permission slip from your student, they will not be permitted to leave campus.
For additional information, please contact Lisa Medina at lisa.medina@modestochristian.org.
