Grades K-12 Returns to School on Distance Learning From Jan 4 - 8
Good Evening K-12 Families,
Happy New Year 2021! We've missed seeing you and we hope you have had a wonderful holiday season. We continue to pray for all of your health and safety. This is a friendly reminder that the new semester begins tomorrow, 1/4/21 with Distance Learning at home through Friday, 1/8/21.
Students in Grades K-5 will learn with the packets of work given to them on 12/17/20. If your student was absent that day, or did not bring home their packet of work, please contact our Elementary office tomorrow to schedule a time to come in and pick up the classwork. These packets are to be completed during the week and will be due back to the teacher on Monday, 1/11/21 for grading.
Students in Grades 6-12 will attend their classes via Google Classroom and will follow the new Bell Schedule for classes (See attached). Students do not need to check in to Study Hall or P.E. for this week only.
All students are scheduled to return to campus on Monday, 1/11/21 and must still complete the Health Screening Form daily before entering the campus (See attached). We look forward to seeing you in person and welcoming several new students to our Modesto Christian School family when we return to campus on Monday, 1/11. Feel free to contact our school office if you have any questions.
As was discussed in church today, here's to a year of necessary endings and new beginnings,
Mrs. Cynthia Jewell Mrs. Vicki Ollson
Interim Superintendent/HS Principal Elementary Principal

Beginning November 9, students will have two choices for their education for the remainder of the semester. The middle/ high school is offering the On-Campus “Live” Instruction Program and the Independent Study Program (the Distance Learning Program will be phased out by November 9, but will be restored due to Covid-19 if necessary).
Option #1 On-Campus “Live” Instruction Program
The On-Campus “Live” Instruction Program welcomes students to campus as they will move from class to class for instruction. Students will follow the Modified Block Schedule 2020-21 beginning November 9. This bell schedule is attached to this letter.
We are encouraged to see an increased number of students on campus. MCS will continue to follow the COVID-19 and our Safe School Reopening Plan to ensure the safety for all students. The Safe School Reopening Plan (SSRP) is a “living” document and newly revised. The SSRP is available for your review on our school website.
Option #2 Off-Campus Independent Study Program
The Off-Campus Independent Study Program is available for students who are considered international students (residing in their home country) and for students with extensive medical concerns in their home and need the Independent Study Program as a protective measure.
For more information, please contact us at MCStrong@modestochristian.org or at the MS/HS Office at 209-529-5510.

High School Students Campaign Virtually
for ASB Positions!
The results are in! Modesto Christian High School students campaign virtually for positions on the Associate Student Body council. Students have submitted applications, gone through an interview process and provided video speeches which were viewed through the schools' Google Classroom forum.
These students did an excellent job making the most of the opportunity even though they were socially distant with their peers and had to find alternative and creative ways to campaign.
Congratulations, students, and well done!
